Children learn outdoors as much as indoors — tending plants, watching seasons change, and caring for the spaces they share. Warm, responsive adults make the classroom feel as safe as home.

Play is the work of the early years. Through sand and water, blocks, role play and group games, children negotiate, take turns, and discover that their voice matters in a room full of others.

Upper Foundation Programme (Grades 1 to 2)
The Upper Foundation in KWS fosters an immersive learning experience through hands-on exploration. The curriculum centers on holistic language development, covering listening, speaking, reading and writing. Our mathematics module uses the CPA method, ensuring comprehensive understanding.
Additionally, we emphasize arts and physical education, honing learners' creativity and physical capabilities, equipping them for their future learning journey.

At its heart, Balanced Literacy recognizes that the true purpose of language is to communicate ideas freely, express oneself with confidence, and connect meaningfully with others. Through read-alouds, shared reading, guided instruction, and independent practice children learn to think deeply, speak clearly and confidently, read with understanding, and write while discovering the joy of meaningful expressions.

At Khaitan, children build a real sense of numbers through exploration, play, and discovery. They count, sort, compare, and measure using objects from everyday life, making math a part of what they see and do. Gradually, ideas take shape; from concrete experiences to pictures and symbols; helping every child understand, not memorise, and see math as something they can enjoy and use with confidence.

The World Around Us
Children make sense of the world by looking closely at their own — the people, places, seasons and living things they meet every day. Through observation, questions, walks and hands-on exploration, they begin to notice patterns, care for their surroundings, and see themselves as part of a wider community.
